Patient Accounts Coordinator – Full Time Position

Job Summary:

Prepares accurate account adjustments when indicated on the patient file.  Assists in monitoring all aging patient accounts, including the overall accounts receivable.  Periodically audits to ensure accurate and complete information appears on the UB-04 & 1500 and in the electronic billing system.  Responsible for assisting with accurate chargemaster updates.  Has direct oversight of Denials Management, working all account checks and claim denials related to registration, forwarding other denials to appropriate personnel, monitors to assure consistent and timely follow up.  Sends Credit Balance Quarterly reports to payers as required.  Responsible for adjusting Medicare Bad Debt accounts and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years billing experience required.

Speech Language Pathologist

We are looking for a self-motivated, compassionate, patient-focused SLP for our Critical Access Hospital; treating patients in acute, outpatient and swing bed environments. We offer a fulfilling work environment, compassionate staff, and excellent compensation and benefits. This is a PRN position that could move into full time.

  • Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Create, implement and adjust treatment plans to address the individualized needs of our diverse patient population.
  • Communicate patient progress to appropriate parties including patients, families, teachers and medical providers.
  • Provide training and education about speech disorders, causes and disabilities to family/caregivers and other professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with professionals from many other disciplines.

  • Maintains records as required by law and administrative regulations.
  • Must possess Master’s degree in Speech-language Pathology

Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Herington Hospital, Inc is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) for our Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic with a current licensure in the State of Kansas.  Candidate should have previous experience in a Rural Health Clinic (RHC) and in the emergency room department (ED).  We offer competitive salary and benefits.  New graduates will be considered.

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Herington Hospital is seeking a full time Respiratory Therapist (RT).  Applicant must be certified or certification eligible by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy.  One to two years previous related experience is preferred and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.  BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.  NRP certification is preferred and TNCC is optional.  Job duties include but are not limited to: administering and routinely performing basic modalities of respiratory therapy for patients requiring non-critical care.  Initiating and performing specialized and advanced respiratory therapy services to critically ill patients under clinical guidance.  Coordinates all therapeutic, diagnostic and assessment related responsibilities performed within the respiratory care department, including pulmonary function services.  Applicant should be a team player and have the ability to multi-task.

 

Occupational Therapist

Job Description: (includes)

  • Evaluates task performance skills, plans and implements programs designed to restore the outpatient, acute, and swing bed patients’ abilities.
  • Educates the patient and others regarding occupational therapy treatment procedures.
  • Documents patient treatment and progress for third party payers.
  • Provides consultation to physicians and others regarding appropriateness of referral to occupational therapy.
  • Provides direct supervision of support personnel and students.
  • Must be designated as a Licensed Occupational Therapist by the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.
