Karen Wendlandt
November 2019 Employee of the Month!

After Karen graduated from Centre High School, she worked Civil Service at Fort Riley, working 10 years at the finance office. Resigning there to be home with their son Chad who was 3 years old at the time. Karen and her husband Dennis have lived in Herington most of their lives. She was employed by USD 487 for 20 years, then retiring from the kitchen, while working at the school and also the hospital. Her hobbies include flea markets, going to movies, and a lucky day at the casino.
Karen says, “My 21 years at the hospital have been very rewarding. Learning more skills and meeting and working with great people. I have seen many changes at the hospital and seeing all of the updates in the building have been great. The hospital has a great future thanks to our employees, medical staff, and administration.”
